Book Blogger Hop - June 18

This week's question is:

What is your favorite genre? (genre that you read the most) - Recommend a book!

This is a tough question for me because I love to read just about anything.  But, ever since I was in 4th grade (I won't tell you how long ago that was), horror/suspense has been my favorite.  I was well ahead of my grade level in English and reading and was already reading Stephen King at this point...don't think it scarred me for life too bad, lol!  I am also a huge fan of anything dystopian or paranormal, and have become a new found lover of historical fiction.  But, if forced to choose I would still go with my heart.  And, the great thing is that horror/suspense can encompass a lot of these other genres.

It is hard to recommend a book because there are so many.  And, I have not read this book in many, many years.  I do know that after I read it I passed it through my family, and it made my Uncle become one of this authors hugest fans - he is not a huge reader and this wouldn't even be his type of book, but after reading this he read just about everything by him.  My Nana even loved it, and her favorite authors were Danielle Steel and Debbie Macomber.  What book is it?

I don't put a lot of stock into what others say about books, but after reading some of the reviews on Amazon I think this one needs a re-read.  I can't imagine that I will feel any differently, but hey, you never know.  Have you read it?  If so, what do you think?  What book would you recommend?

Here is the synopsis per Amazon:

This is the story of a boy who loses his sight, and then mysteriously regains it.

It is the story of a courageous band of seekers and a relentless killer.

It is the story of all that is right with the world—and all that is terribly wrong.

It is the story of a revelation so terrifying and so sublime, it can only be glimpsed . . . From the Corner of His Eye.
