I LOVED this book, love, love, loved it! I have been a fan of Christine and her novels for some time now, and with each book I read it is obvious that she hones her craft just a little more.

The Cassie Scot series has come to be one of my favorites, and vampires, well, any of you that know me know my love of all things undead (well, some zombies may be an exception). But knowing that one of the characters that grew on me in previous novels was a vampire in this one didn't sit well with me. How was I going to continue to like him when it was evident he was going to be a bad guy. Well, things aren't always what you may think at first.

The way the author is able to weave fantasy with reality is truly astonishing. While reading this book it is hard to remember that this is just made up, that is how in depth the characters and setting are. I can't wait to continue on with these books to see what Christine is going to do next. 

Meet the Author:

Christine Amsden has been writing fantasy and science fiction for as long as she can remember. She loves to write and it is her dream that others will be inspired by this love and by her stories. Speculative fiction is fun, magical, and imaginative but great speculative fiction is about real people defining themselves through extraordinary situations. Christine writes primarily about people and relationships, and it is in this way that she strives to make science fiction and fantasy meaningful for everyone.

At the age of 16, Christine was diagnosed with Stargardt’s Disease, which scars the retina and causes a loss of central vision. She is now legally blind, but has not let this slow her down or get in the way of her dreams.

Christine currently lives in the Kansas City area with her husband, Austin, who has been her biggest fan and the key to her success. In addition to being a writer, she's a freelance editor, mom, and foster mom.
