15 Day Book Challenge - Day 5

So, Day 5 of the 15 Day Book Challenge hosted by Good Books and Good Wine is here and today's question is one that made me think long and hard. Today's post is to recommend a tear jerker. Let me first start out by saying, that while I am a woman I am not the most emotional woman in the world. It is rare for me to cry at a book or movie and can only name a few. And, I'm not sure that I cried when I read this book, but my heart ached for the characters as I could totally relate, even though it was such a slip into insanity. And, most people probably wouldn't even think of this book, or maybe even a book by this author, as he isn't know for tear jerkers.

What book is it you ask?

Description from Goodreads:
"Sometimes dead is better.... "When the Creeds move into a beautiful old house in rural Maine, it all seems too good to be true: physician father, beautiful wife, charming little daughter, adorable infant son - and now an idyllic home. As a family, they've got it all... right down to the friendly cat. But the nearby woods hide a blood-chilling truth - more terrifying than death itself... and hideously more powerful.

    1. Hi Angelica,
The book is freaky too, but the way the characters are developed at the end you just end up being heartbroken, not scared really. It's one of my favorites. Thanks for stopping by!
